While someone asks to test a product most of the testers just ignore the installer package and just blindly click on “Next”, “Next”, “Next” and go on until the installation has been successfully completed. But, Installer package is also a part of the product and hence it should be given equal importance of testing it as well.

Great compile for possible test ideas. thank you for putting this together.
Most of these scenarios appear to be UI test – so you might want to rename the title to indicate UI testing for installer package. There are many other things that go on behind the scene. you would want to account for those when you get to the details of functional testing the product (in this case, the installer itself)
how about registry settings?
any clues on components being installed? how about things being copied? installer indicates files being copied, where is it copying those files?
what if installer was interrupted- would it retain those unnecessary files there?
how about installer removing the temporary files – it says removing, is it removing the right set?
should you trust it is not removing your data files? or OS files?
are components being registered properly?
what if there was a mal-registering a component?
would that bring up the system back up when it is booted?
and many others from functional aspect of it…
